Cam speaks up on homosexuality row...

We all remember Alistair Campbell’s famous remark about how New Labour did not “do God” – even if Tony Blair eventually did. But the current PM is not so shy about his beliefs.

Cameron was even content to speak openly on the story about a Christian couple barred by a judge from becoming foster parents after saying they’d refuse to tell a child that homosexuality was ok.

When Lobbydog asked him about it yesterday he said: "This matter was decided by a court in the appropriate way and I think we should rest with the judgement that was made.

"I think Christians should be tolerant and welcoming and broad minded."

A spokesman for the couple in question later said the PM's response was "lacking in any understanding of the critical situation and conflict between the two groups involved".

UPDATE: Daily Mail follows up the story.
