Ashfield MP Geoff Hoon – the new transport secretary – says he’s not daunted by the challenges of his new job.
And after some of the difficulties he’s had to deal with in the past why would he be?
Maybe, as fellow Notts MP Ken Clarke points out, he’s hoping for third time lucky
Ken noted: “He’s been pretty unlucky with some of the things he’s had come his way in the past.
“He was at the MoD during the Iraq War and then was a chief whip in a very divisive time for Labour. Good luck to him I say.”
