The Tory press office has been unrelenting today, like some sort of news army bombarding hacks with stories and announcements from behind their white counter.
It has meant many of us have been far too busy to give our full attention to the story about Tory splits over Europe – which is 'fortunate' for them.
I’ll be hunting down a few MPs to talk about what’s going on behind the scenes later tonight.

Isn't it a bit naive to think that everyone in a political party will have identical views on every subject?
I can appreciate that the Labour party lacked the wit and intelligence to have a sensible debate about anything (they merely trot along and do what they are told).
The fact that there may be differences of opinion in the Tories over the question of Europe is no big deal.
I would rather the matter be discussed in a mature and sensible manner so the rationale for their policy can be understood.
If the Tories decide to duck the issue then my vote (and I suspect thousands of others) will go to UKIP. To argue that the self amending Lisbon treaty is not a constitution ( as Liebour has done) is an insult to everyone in the country. We can see now that it has all been a game to get Tony Bliar in as president (his reward for selling out on the rebate and not holding the referendum he promised in the last labour manifesto) , no doubt with another lucrative post for Mandleson.
You're right GBMCS. But I'll doubt you'll get any mature debate from this lot - they're too scared of their own views.
