In a single carriage of the train I took yesterday was Gordon Brown, Alistair Darling, David Miliband, Hazel Blears, Jacqui Smith, Ed Balls, James Purnell and John Denham.
Now, now bloggers. I know what you're thinking. But remember - I was on the train too.
Caroline Flint and Margaret Beckett joined the pack later.
A Labour spokesman admitted that it was an unusual display of politcal strength outside of a general election campaign.
The party leaders know that to escape a voting booth battering they need all the strength they have.
It was notable that they rolled the big guns into Derbyshire too - one of three Midlands counties that the Tories think they can take.

Interesting thought - that those in direct line of succession to the Throne are not allowed to travel together, just in case an accident happened, but that the same rule doesn't apply to the members of Her Majesty's Government.
As much as I like this blog LD, I think you should have laid down your life for the country and derailed the train. We could at least build a statue of you or something to remember you by.
A statue? We'd have surrounded it with beautiful parklands with fountains, lit from below at night, with a constant flow of Butty Bach washing over your memorial.
Next time eh?
"Butty Bach "
Almost as good as Hobsons'!
Whilst understanding the sentiments of the commentators above, perhaps you saved the nation's prosperity by not eliminating all these government ministers. If they do take some action to get all the MP's & Lords to repay their misappropriated expenses, this might bring in enough cash to end the lending crisis and relaunch the economy; that would be a real success and deserving of two statues.
Could someone tell Mr. anonymous! that one cannot derail a train if one stayed on the train...And the LD doesn't need to attempt it next time, with the amount of bad luck this PM has had since day one, they are likely to derail themselves.
